Maansi - Of Sound Mind

Maansi is a mental health service delivery program carried out by pPOD's collaborators at St. John's Medical College Hospital in Bangalore. It is specially targeted to cater to the mental health needs of women in rural South India, 1 in 7 of who suffer from mental illness and 1 in 3 of who have experienced sexual or physical abuse. A heart rendering video was filmed to demonstrate Maansi's work and influence in rural South India. This can be accessed at

Mindfulness research team win the Innovating for Life Award 2012

The research group developing Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting in Oxford, led by Maret Dymond and Sian Warriner were awarded the 2012 Innovating for Life Award at an award ceremony at the Royal Society in London.  Susannah Murphy, Liz Braithwaite and Paul Ramchandani from pPOD are collaborating with Maret and others as part of this new research enterprise.  You can read more about the Antenatal Mindfulness classes here on the Oxford Mindfulness Website.

Michelle Fernandes, co-founder of FoetoH, wins TATA Idea Idol 2012

_Michelle Fernandes won the grand prize at the finale of TATA Idea Idol 2012 for FoetoH - a new portable technology for home based foetal monitoring. Up against 240 applicants, 40 semi-finalists and 6 finalists; FoetoH was judged the winner of TATA Idea Idol 2012 by an expert panel consisting of  Leo Johnson (Co-Founder of Sustainable Finance Ltd); Gary Frank (CEO of The Fabulous Bakin’ Boys); Will Chadwick (Vice President of Tata Interactive Systems); and Melody Hossaini (CEO of InspirEngage International. This prestigious annual competition is organised by Oxford University’s student society for entrepreneurs, Oxford Entrepreneurs, at the Saïd Business School and financed by TATA.
