Dr Jane Iles
Research Associate / Clinical Psychologist
Jane Iles completed her undergraduate Psychology degree at the University of York. She then completed a research PhD at the Universities of Sheffield (Clinical Psychology Unit) and York (Mother and Infant Research Unit). This research explored the roles of social support and partner attachment in postnatal posttraumatic stress in new parents.
Jane then worked as a Research Assistant on The Fathers Project, in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Oxford – a study exploring the possible effects of postnatal depression on parent-child interactions and child outcomes. Jane has since trained as a Clinical Psychologist at Royal Holloway, University of London. Since qualifying, Jane has split her time between working clinically in CAMHS services within the NHS, and as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. She is currently working on the Healthy Start, Happy Start study in the Centre for Mental Health at Imperial College London, with Dr Paul Ramchandani and his team. The study uses an early attachment-based video-feedback intervention with parents of young children, focusing on child communication, play, child development and managing difficult behaviours.
