Dr Elizabeth Braithwaite
Postdoctoral Researcher

Elizabeth has recently completed her D.Phil at the University of Oxford, Department of Psychiatry. The main focus of her doctoral research was  the biological mechanisms by which maternal antenatal depression and anxiety may impact on fetal and infant development. Specifically, Elizabeth investigated whether prenatal depression may be associated with maternal and infant hormonal changes, and also epigenetic modifications of the infants epigenome.

Elizabeth is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher and splits her time between The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, and the Academic Unit of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Imperial College London. She is supported by an MRC supplementary training grant, and currently working on a collaborative epigenetics project with Columbia University.
